LAYSHA (Hangul: 레이샤) is a South Korean girl group formed
by JS Entertainment in 2015. It consists of four members: Som, Goeun, Chaejin,
and Hyeri. Their official debut took place on May 12, 2015 with the release of
the single “LAYSHA”. The group does not perform on music shows due to their
sexy choreography and short outfits.
History
LAYSHA started their debut on May 12, 2015 with the
single “Turn Up the Music”. Initially the group consisted of five members, however,
shortly after the group’s debut, JS announced the departure of members Seulgi
and Yoobin, for their first comeback “Chocolate Cream”, teasers were aired and
along with them the news that a new member had joined, being her HyeRi, and
until today the group is formed by four members. Choim had not been included in
the group’s official lineup.
On July 20, 2016, LAYSHA made their first comeback with
the single “Chocolate Cream”. During her 2016 performances, LAYSHA has been
drawing a lot of attention due to not wearing shorts under her skirts and
malfunctioning clothes.
On December 18, 2017, LAYSHA made their second comeback
with the single “Pink Label”. On August 29, 2018, LAYSHA got into another
controversy, when Som and Goeun said they had placed cameras in their bedrooms
and bathrooms to spy on them, placing blame on their company, Goeun denies the
allegations over Laysha is using the hidden camera controversy for marketing.
Later, netizens began to suspect that LAYSHA had lied about the hidden cameras.
